Saving Money for Kids

Big dreams begin with small savings. Learn how to save, set a goal, and celebrate every step toward it.

Why is saving important?

Saving money means keeping some of your money for something you want or need later. Each time you save, you practice patience, planning, and making choices. Even one dollar can be the start of something great.

Remember: Save a little. Keep going. Watch it grow.

Three easy steps to saving

  1. Pick a goal. Think of something meaningful you want to save for, like a book, school supplies, or a special experience.
  2. Choose an amount to save. Put part of your allowance, birthday money, or money you receive into your savings jar or account with a parent or trusted adult.
  3. Track your progress. Write down how much you have saved and celebrate every milestone.
